peashooter85: Say What? —- Nazi made Colt 1911 In 1914 the Norwegian military adopted the Colt 1911 as their official sidearm.  Manufactured from the Kongsberg factory, they were officially named the Kongsberg model 1914. In 1940 the German Wehrmact invaded and conquered Norway.  In order to support their war effort the Germans began their own production of the Kongsberg 1914.  Only around 900-1000 were produced with German markings.  After World War II many had their German markings removed and were rearseneled for used by the Norwegian military.  Few examples survive.
